Refer home movers to an independent conveyancing solicitor.

For estate and lettings agents and mortgage brokers. With your client's agreement, we introduce them to an independent SRA-regulated property solicitor, and you follow each referral to completion.

How do conveyancing referrals work?

You refer a client who has agreed to be introduced. An independent SRA-regulated solicitor quotes them before any work starts, and you follow the referral in your portal. Any referral fee is agreed in writing with the solicitor's firm, and you tell your client the amount before you recommend them.

How it works

  1. Refer, with your client's agreement

Your client agrees to be introduced. You send their details through a short form or your own link.

  2. The solicitor quotes first

An independent SRA-regulated property solicitor sends your client their own quote before any work starts. Your client can choose any solicitor instead.

  3. You follow it to completion

Each referral's stage and dates in your partner portal, without your client's private details.

Referral fees, in the open

  • Any referral fee is agreed in writing between you and the solicitor's firm before you refer. Instrukt takes no share of it.
  • You tell your client the amount in writing before you recommend the solicitor. The National Trading Standards Estate Agency Team's guidance on transparency of fees involving property sales (February 2019) recommends disclosing the amount of a transaction-specific referral fee, not just the fact of one, and says an agent cannot rely on a solicitor to itemise it.
  • The solicitor also tells your client about it, as the SRA Code of Conduct requires.
  • Passing on an offer never depends on a buyer using the service, and sellers choose to opt in.

General information, not legal advice. Instrukt is a trading name of JG Core Ltd and is not a law firm.
