How we work and how we're paid

Instrukt is a trading name of JG Core Ltd. We are not a law firm, we are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, and we do not give legal advice. What we do is find the right independent solicitor for your matter and introduce you.

Who the solicitors are

Every solicitor we introduce is authorised to practise by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and works in a firm, or as a freelance solicitor, that is responsible for the work it does for you. Before you agree anything you'll have their name and SRA number, which you can check on the Solicitors Register.

Who you contract with

You instruct the solicitor directly, under their own terms of business and client care letter. They are responsible for the advice, they hold the professional indemnity insurance that covers it, and you pay them directly. Instrukt is not a party to that agreement.

How we're paid

We may receive a fee from the solicitor for introducing you. If we do, the solicitor must tell you in writing, including the amount, before you instruct them. An introduction fee never changes the fee you're quoted, and you are free to instruct any solicitor you like instead.

We do not introduce personal injury claims or criminal matters, where introduction fees are not allowed.

If something goes wrong

A complaint about the legal work goes to the solicitor first, through their complaints procedure. If it isn't resolved, you may be able to take it to the Legal Ombudsman, and concerns about a solicitor's conduct can be reported to the SRA.

A complaint about Instrukt itself, for example about how we handled your enquiry, can be sent to hello@instrukt.co.uk. We reply within ten working days.
